During the holidays, children’s books can be a wonderful gift AND provide some much-needed respite from the holiday rush, for children and their parents. We often spend a lot of time and energy looking for that special toy for our child, but how about replacing that toy with a book? Many toys these days seem to limit a child’s imagination and curiosity about the world, but oh, what a book can do to stimulate that child’s imagination and curiosity!
If you haven’t already finished your holiday shopping, here are several sources of good books for young children that provide recommendations for books that match your child’s developmental age and interests. Of course, these lists are a great resource for you throughout the year.
Here are some of those:

2018 Imagination Library Books
And when the pace of the holiday season seems too fast for comfort or when post-exciting-event-depression (PEED as my daughter calls it) begins to set in, grab two or three books you and your child like a lot, settle into a cozy chair, and let the stories and illustrations take you away!
Happy Holidays and a very happy 2019 to you and your family!
